Primrose Hill Farm Wedding Photography

Why Primrose Hill Farm is brilliant

This wedding at Primrose Hill Farm in Oxfordshire was my first time photographing the venue. Maybe if you’re reading this you have already visited or are considering it for your own wedding, from the minute you walk into the place you know you’re somewhere pretty special. It has the classic middle England feel with the red brick farmhouse and it’s surrounded by gorgeous rolling countryside with fantastic views from lots of angles, but then when you actually go inside all the interiors are modern, but timeless with loads of big windows to let in lots of natural light.

The grounds are perfectly kept, the indoor spaces are clean and tastefully decorated and there is a gorgeous lake for some couple portraits as the sun goes down.

Wedding Ceremony at Primrose Hill Farm

Ok, let’s talk about the Ceremony room, it has really tasteful rustic wood panelling, a big window and a very cool globe light above the ceremony space. There is even lots of room around the edges for your photographer to move around and get lots of different angles of your ceremony. Definitely a positive in my book.

Then there’s the reception space in the massive barn, it has windows all down one side and a bar connecting it and the ceremony room. I loved the light in the big barn so much that I made sure the Groom and his friends got ready in there by the windows.

Primrose Hill Farm grounds for wedding photography

The grounds are so lovely, I already mentioned the lake, but it’s accessed by a short path through a wrought iron fence and is such a nice spot for some portraits together. The beauty of it really comes in the fact your photographer will probably be on the other side of the water, so you can relax, enjoy each other’s company for a little while and take time to just be yourselves. Take a look near the bottom of the gallery below for some of the shots from this wedding. There is also a lawn with a huge view behind it right outside the front of the main reception barn. This is a great spot for some family photos and maybe even a big group shot.
