The best wedding venue in Bristol

Hidden away in the heart of Clifton, Goldney Hall is by far my favourite venue for wedding photography in Bristol. You’d never know it was there if you walked past but behind the old stone walls and facade is the most tranquil, gorgeous venue for a wedding with large gardens facing south over the city hosting lots of period features and little walkways.

Outdoor ceremony at Goldney Hall

Imagine your wedding under the beautiful trees, surrounded by the expansive gardens and gorgeous old buildings, the birds singing, the breeze keeping you cool as you say your vows together with your friends and family. Lizzie and Will’s ceremony was exactly this, in the middle of July with the sun beating down, we were cool and so happy in the gardens, I couldn’t imagine a more tranquil place to get married. There are also indoor spaces for weddings at Goldney Hall and I cannot wait to go back, I expect an autumn wedding there would look amazing.

The story of this wedding

This one started out at the Bristol Hotel where I met Will and his friends for their preparation, which involved drinking beers and working out how to tie their ties before we headed up to Goldney Hall for the Ceremony. The weather was beautiful, hot with a gentle breeze which just about perfect.

At Goldney Hall, we had a few first looks with parents before the ceremony inside the lovely state rooms, before Lizzie and her bridesmaid came down the aisle, followed by some champagne spraying and a walk in the gardens with their guests.

We then jumped on board a lovely vintage bus and headed into town to The Radnor Rooms, where a BBQ, speeches, some tears and lots of dancing followed, finally finished off with some couple portraits around the waterfront.

Lizzie and Will told me that for their portraits they did not want to stand still or have to pose, which was music to my ears. We had a great time doing lots of fun and games which I think resulted in some beautiful photos of the pair of them.
